Let's Talk Insurance

I am considered an "out of network provider" with all insurance companies. I am happy to provide you with all of the information you need to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement of services!  Have more questions about how to handle insurance with an out of network provider? Keep reading!

How does out of network billing work?

If you wish to use your insurance, you will be responsible for paying the full service fee at the time of our appointment.  I will then provide you with a "superbill" to send to your insurance company directly, because many insurance companies offer out of network benefits and partial reimbursement to cover services by providers who are not on their panels, but still offer an essential and important service.  I encourage you to contact your insurance company ahead of time to find out what your out of network benefits are with your specific plan!

Why don't you accept insurance?

First and foremost, I value your confidentiality above all else.  Submitting to insurance companies requires that I assign you or your child a diagnosis that then gets permanently linked to your medical record.  That doesn't always feel appropriate or necessary, and for some it can feel intrusive and even stigmatizing.  Insurance companies can also request to see session notes and know details of our confidential work together at any time if they are directly reimbursing for my services.

Additionally, insurance companies can choose which services to reimburse for and which services not to with very little explanation as to why.  They can, and often do, claw back payment from providers at their will.  For me to do my best work and engage in the most evidence based practice possible, I require the flexibility to meet with individuals, parents, and families in many formats, or extend our session time, or even to meet multiple times in one week if there is an imminent need, which are all things that insurance frequently will not reimburse for. This allows me to offer more of a concierge model of treatment.  Under this model clients can receive up to 30 minutes of gratis text and phone support in between sessions when needed.

Individual sessions are $250 per 45 minute session

Parent, family, and exposure sessions are $325 per 90 minute session

Remember, therapy is an investment in yourself and your family.  Think about all of the ways in which you are already investing in your life: gym memberships, music lessons, athletics, private school tuition, tutors, and even fancy lattes with foam art count!

Now ask yourself: why isn't your mental health just as important (if not more important) than all of those things?  You are worth investing in! Call today!

I accept cash, check, HSA/FSA and all major credit cards as forms of payment
